3G Phone Suppliers
There are four major 3G phone suppliers in Australia. These 3G phone suppliers are Optus, Telstra, Vodafone, and Hutchkinson.
Optus 3G Phone
One of the major 3G phone suppliers in Australia, Optus launched in April 2005 its first 3G site in Canberra. Subsequently, Optus 3G services covered major Australian cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, and Perth.
Optus 3G network, similar to other 3G phone suppliers, has been designed to provide greater network coverage and advanced digital and mobile services. Like other 3G phone suppliers, Optus require customers who want to obtain 3G capabilities to 3G compatible mobile phones.
Optus 3G provides enhanced 3G experience to its customers through mobile phone features that support 3G technology's video calling, fast data transmission, as well as access to real-time streaming of music and television shows. Optus is one of the 3G phone suppliers that carry 3G mobile phone brands like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, LG and Blackberry.
Telstra 3G Phone
In October 2006, Telstra launched Australia's largest and fastest 3G network branded as "Next G." It is said to provide 100 times more coverage than any other 3G phone suppliers. It is also over three times bigger than any 2G provider in the country.
Telsta 3G phone features added capacity that will enable you to access contract files on your web-based servers, send web-based emails using your phone, and enjoy easy access to your office files wherever you carry your mobile phone. Some of these services and capabilities are not yet being offered by other 3G phone suppliers.
Vodafone 3G Phone
Vodaphone 3G is one of the main 3G phone suppliers in Australia. In October 2005, Vodafone launched its 3G mobile phone services. Like other 3G phone suppliers, Vodaphone's 3G was initially available in metropolitan areas in Australia.
As among the major 3G phone suppliers in the country, Vodafone offers 3G access through selected 3G-capable phones. Its phone services is based on its multimedia platform "Vodafone Live!" which it has been implementing in other countries.
Vodafone carries 3G phone brand names such as Sharp, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Nokia. Like most 3G phone suppliers, Vodafone charges 3G content on a usage basis.
3 Mobile Phone
Three is among the first 3G phone suppliers in Australia to launch 3G mobile phones in 2003. Its 3G network covers major cities of Australia such as Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Perth.
Like most 3G phone suppliers, Hutchison's Three provides multimedia experience to its customers. 3 Mobile partnered with Skype to come up with Skypephone. The Skypephone provides free voice calls using 3 Mobile and free instant messages from Skype. This service is not offered by other 3G phone suppliers.
3 Mobile, like other 3G phone suppliers, carry 3G phone brands such as Nokia, Samsung, LG, and Sony Ericsson.
