Futuristic 3G phones

Friday July 18, 2008

3G phones are capable of so much more than just voice calls and text messaging. Video telephony in a portable device, mobile Internet browsing, instant messaging wherever you go - these are features of 3G phones that used to be predictions for the future. Back in the '90s, the phrase 'the future is now' became a cliche because no one could believe it back then. Current technology is satisfying the fantasies of the past quite effectively, just not with the fanfare that we first expected would accompany its arrival.

Telstra 3G phones seem to have been designed with this jump in technology in mind. The expansion of the Telstra Next G 3G network originally seemed to be jumping the gun in terms of advancing this new mobile phone technology. 3G phones are extremely prevalent now, though, with the number of subscribers to 3G phone sin Australia set to outnumber those subscribing to older style networks in the very near future.

3G phone suppliers have also been dropping the prices of older 3G technology as newer and better 3G phones with improved Internet browsing interfaces are developed and released. With the competition heating up between Telstra 3G phones, Optus 3G phones and Vodafone 3G phones with the release of the Apple iPhone, the market for 3G phone plans is set to become larger.
